The BMW Group’s plant in Debrecen is the Group’s newest and most innovative facility, where the first model of the Neue Klasse platform, the new BMW iX3, will roll off the production line. The plant was built according to the principles of the BMW iFACTORY and plays a pioneering role within the global network as the Group’s first fully electric facility relying on renewable energy.

“This is not merely a new BMW Group plant – it is a cornerstone of progress. We are committed to culture and education, and we inspire the talents of the future. Above all, this is about a community that is deeply embedded in the life of Debrecen and Hungary.”

Managing Director,
CATL Germany and Hungary
I am proud of establishing our European roots in Debrecen and besides producing world-class batteries, we are eager to develop together with the city.
Debrecen is not only a strategic location, but also a long-term commitment for CATL. With its strong industrial foundation, good infrastructure, excellent secondary and university education as well as great cultural programs, the city offers everything we need to build a strong base for our European EV battery production.
Through investing in education, sustainability and cultural programs, I strongly believe that our company will become a good neighbor and a good employer of the city and the region. Together, we will shape the next chapter of Europe’s electrification of transport, innovate and create world class and sustainable products. Our educational collaborations will contribute to the training of future engineers and researchers, and to build a strong foundation for technological excellence in the region.
