The second largest education centre in the country

Debrecen has the second largest education center in the country and more than 81 thousand students from kindergarten to university participate in some kind of training. A government decree worth more than 108 million euros supports structural changes and a business-oriented transformation of the education system, to increase the number of students in the city to 100,000 by 2030, primarily in the fields of engineering and economics in both vocational training and higher education.

Dual Education

In Debrecen, the dual training scheme has created a partnership between vocational training institutions, the university and local companies. As a result of the dual training system, students gain practical experience alongside their vocational certificate, technical diploma or university degree. Companies will be able to ensure that their labour needs are adequately met, while at the same time reducing the costs they incur for dual training through public subsidies and discounts. Debrecen Vocational Training Centre currently has 44 strategic and cooperation partners.
